On June 1, 2007 fun was had by over 250 people who attended the first annual Kortney Rose Foundation dinner/dance at Gibbs Hall in Tinton Falls. With a performance of "Vinny Provolone and Carmella Mozzarella's Engagement Party" laughs filled the air as the actors mingled with the crowd and got some of our guests involved in their skits. Once the DJ started playing music the crowd never left the dance floor!
Special thanks to our EVENT SPONSOR WORLD SUBARU, Kenny Schwartz, and Mike Lomazzo without whom we would not have been able to throw such a wonderful evening. Without their support less money would go toward our mission of raising money for pediatric brain tumor research and awareness.
Thank you to our keynote speaker, Dr. Peter Phillips, Director of Neuro-Oncology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) who drove in shore traffic on a Friday night to attend and help bring awareness to our attendees of what type of research CHOP does and how their donations will support that effort.
We received many donations from anonymous donors. While we cannot thank you by name we do want to express our gratitude. You know who you are!!!!
Even those who couldn't attend the dinner were very generous in their donations. The 250 who did attend were EXTREMELY giving. At the dinner we were pleasantly surprised when a couple donated a check for $10,000. Through a raffle of three large ticket items, 20 baskets chock full of prizes, several wonderful silent auction items, dinner ticket sales, foundation product sales and general donations we raised over $60,000 from the evening. Unbelievable! All that money and all of that fun too!
Sherri Amador and Theresa McLean were instrumental in helping me organize the event. We also had a wonderful group of volunteers for the dinner committee. This is a huge event and we couldn't do it without each and every one of you. Thank you so much!
