If I donate money to The Kortney Rose Foundation(KRF) is it tax deductible?
Yes, The Kortney Rose Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501(c) (3) non profit organization. Information filed with the Attorney General concerning this charitable solicitation may be obtained from the attorney general of the State of New Jersey (973) 504-6215. Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. ID#20-5350807
- What institution(s) will receive the donations accrued by the Kortney Rose Foundation?
In the year 2007 all fundraising efforts will be to support the pediatric brain tumor research being done at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The Board of Directors of KRF will annually review our funding options.
- How can I contribute to the Kortney Rose Foundation?
You may contribute in many different ways. We are always looking for volunteers to help with our annual functions. For The Kortney Rose Foundation Dinner/Dance (June 1, 2007), and Kortney’s Challenge (September 8, 2007) you may make a monetary and/or a product donation. For our dinner/dance we invite businesses, individuals and families to place ads in our ad journal. This is a great way to advertise to over 250 people. Please see the “Upcoming Events” section for further information on ad journal pricing. For the Lakewood BlueClaws game on July 31, 2007, buy a ticket and join the fun! For Kortney’s Challenge, in September, again we need volunteers to help with registration, manning the route and general help. We also need sponsors. Please see details about sponsorship opportunities in the "Sponsors" section.
- Why did you choose the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) as the recipient of your donations for the year 2007?
Dr. Phillips is the head of neuro-oncology at CHOP. He is in charge of the research that goes on in the pediatric brain tumor realm. Dr. Phillips not only has an unbelievable resume including Sloan Kettering, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Johns Hopkins, he is a passionate man when it comes to his patients and research. Having had the opportunity to work at many other institutions he chose CHOP because he believes it to be the best in the pediatric field. He is not alone in that belief. In 2006, U.S. News & World Report named CHOP the #1 Children’s Hospital in the Country for a 4th year in a row. The level of care that Kortney and our entire family received while at CHOP was amazing. 100% of the money we give to them will go to research. CHOP researchers work closely with other institutions who are all working together toward the same goals.
