ING NYC Marathon
TEAM KORTNEY is honored to be a "Bronze Level" charity in the 2010 ING New York City Marathon. We have a limited number of guaranteed spots. Please join us for this premiere event while raising money for research for pediatric brain cancer which is the #1 cancer killer of children 20 and under.
Athletes who run in the ING New York City Marathon as part of TEAM KORTNEY are required to raise a minimum of $2,500 in support of The Kortney Rose Foundation's mission. If you already have a spot in the ING New York City Marathon, you can still join TEAM KORTNEY by committing to raising a minimum of $1,500.
The ING New York City Marathon is the premier event of the New York Road Runners, who sponsor road races and other fitness programs that draw over 300,000 annually. The ING New York City Marathon is known as one of the world's great road races, drawing more than 100,000 applicants annually.
According to a news release by the ING NYC Marathon in October 2009, "More than 6,000 runners representing more than 75 charities – both record numbers – aimed to raise $21 million at the ING New York City Marathon 2009, which would be an all-time high for the race. The 40th running of the race was on November 1, 2009. In 2008, $18.9 million was raised for the 41 charities included in the official NYRR-managed charity program." IN THE KORTNEY ROSE FOUNDATIONS’ INAUGURAL YEAR AS A PARTICIPATING CHARITY IN THE 2009 ING NEW YORK CITY MARATHON, TEAM KORTNEY RAISED OVER $53,000.
