SECOND ANNUAL KORTNEY ROSE FOUNDATION SPRING DINNER/DANCE
May 16, 2008
A wonderful evening of was had by the over 150 attendees at this year's dinner/dance held on May 16, 2008 at Gibbs Hall. The event was sponsored by World Subaru of Tinton Falls and Pound Puppies. The baskets were overflowing from the generosity of many donors. Special thanks goes to all of the many volunteers who helped make the evening a success. This event would not be possible without the ongoing support that we receive from the community and our volunteers.
One of highlights of the evening was when Dr. Peter Phillips, Director or the Neuro-Oncology Department at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia not only spoke about how our donations are used, but then opened the floor to questions. This allowed for a unique question and answer session that was very informative.

SECOND ANNUAL KORTNEY'S CHALLENGE
September 8, 2007
We greatly appreciate the help of Phil and Penny Hinck of The Jersey Shore Running Club for their organizational skills for Kortney's Challenge for the past two years. We couldn't have done what we have without their expertise and guidance.
Over 500 registrants signed up for the second annual Kortney's Challenge. The weather was hot but that didn't dampen the spirits of the walkers/runners that came to participate. We had several very special walkers. Two boys who are brain tumor survivors participated. Jimmy brought his family and a couple of teachers with him from Pennsylvania. These teachers took up a collection from the other teachers and made a large donation the day of the challenge. Tony brought his mom to walk with him and his grandfather was instrumental in helping set up that day. It meant so much to have these boys participate as they and children like them are why The Kortney Rose Foundation raises money. Their survival is thanks to treatments that have come about from previous years of research.

LAKEWOOD BLUE CLAWS FUNDRAISER
July 31, 2007
Big Thanks goes out to Bobby Yunker who "fields" this entire fundraiser. Last year he organized the first game to benefit The Kortney Rose Foundation and this year he did it again. Much gratitude also goes out to Rich's fellow postal workers who volunteered at the BlueClaws concession stand, the Lakewood BlueClaws organization and the over 275 people who bought tickets to the game. Our weather angel Kortney came through again giving us an absolutely perfect evening for baseball. Kasey got to throw out the first pitch again this year.
The event raised just over $1500 for The Kortney Rose Foundation for pediatric brain tumor research and awareness.

THE KORTNEY ROSE FOUNDATION INAUGURAL DINNER/DANCE
June 1, 2007
On June 1, 2007 fun was had by over 250 people who attended the first annual Kortney Rose Foundation dinner/dance at Gibbs Hall in Tinton Falls. With a performance of "Vinny Provolone and Carmella Mozzarella's Engagement Party" laughs filled the air as the actors mingled with the crowd and got some of our guests involved in their skits. Once the DJ started playing music the crowd never left the dance floor!

2/25/07 |
|
|
More than 100 friends, and many press outlets, joined the Gillette family to officially dedicate Kortney’s Playground on February 25, 2007. It was freezing out but everyone politely endured the cold to share their happiness in dedicating a place where everyone could remember Kortney’s playful spirit.
